This organization is hiring a Director, Visual Merchandising and Store Design who has the experience and vision to translate their brand into an exceptional physical retail experience.

Reporting to the Vice-President, Store Operations, this role is responsible for creating and managing the store design vision, innovation, and implementation of retail excellence in the brand's stores. This includes in-store merchandise and point-of-purchase planning through enhanced merchandising and store design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Vice-President, Store Operations, this role is responsible for creating and managing the store design vision, innovation, and implementation of retail excellence in the brand's stores. This includes in-store merchandise and point-of-purchase planning through enhanced merchandising and store design.

Support Store Design and Visual Merchandising teams with their ongoing research and development programs for future strategic strength.

Create and lead the vision for an all-inclusive store of the future, using the latest innovations and technology. This will involve launching an innovation centre for implementing test concepts in a virtual environment as well working with real-world stores to resolve systematic issues in the Dealer network.

Partner with Store Operations functions to integrate programs into stores including training, change management and field support driving Dealer adoption of recommended programs.

Participate in other strategic projects as required.


QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent experience within the Retail sector.

Minimum 10 years’ direct progressive experience in retail concepts, branded architecture & experiential design in hardware or consumer goods.

Ability to manage in an environment of change and ambiguity to help us take bold, strategic moves in this rapidly evolving retail environment.

Create a culture that ensures the highest standard of performance and quality.

Proficient in micro and macro space planning and demonstrated experience in store design development including technical expertise required to detail new fixture development.

Proficient with Microsoft Office products, POS analytics, space planning platforms (i.e. JDA) and other relevant technology. Ability to accommodate the needs of an independent-owned store network with varying store formats, banners and product mix while leading teams and ensuring collaboration amongst groups.

Excellent written and verbal skills, with strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate, influence, negotiate and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Fosters change and innovation. Demonstrated knowledge and experience working through transformative change management initiatives.

Project Management experience.

Good construction knowledge and a practical ability to problem-solve onsite.

Ability to work additional or varied hours as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Willingness and flexibility to travel as necessary. Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.
